5 Speed! Well it was, I think.
As I continue to dig into my 86Z more I learn more. I reviewed all the RPO codes in the center console. The VIN does match the car VIN. What has me curious is the RPO code for a 5 Speed trasmission...... There is a 700R4 in the car...
Where can I look to see if the car actually was a 5 speed? Are there wires or brackets that would still be there? Is there another way to confirm?

Pedal assy, wiring, shifter hole, clutch master cyl hole, .... should be able to spot that swapperoo from across the parking lot.

Where would these be located if it was a 5 speed? I will look under the dash for signs, but I know there is no clutch pedal. I guess going back to a 5 speed will be fun.
The center console looks intact and is setup for automatic

Auto brake pedal is likw 6" wide, clutch brake pedal is like 2½" wide.
Clutch MC hole is right behind the pedal... around 1½" dia with 2 smaller holes around it. You can see it from either the firewall side or the interior.
Shifter hole is .... a hole. Automatics have nothing of the kind. The whole trans tunnel (a discrete piece of sheet metal in the car assy) is different. Pop the top off the console.

Console is original, with SPID sticker that matches VIN. It's the same for auto and manual, only the trim plates are different so it doesn't need to changed for swap.
