305tpi with 3:73 0-60

I haven't been to the track, so I can't truly relate to 60' and 1/4 mile times, however I can relate to 0-60mph times.

I have a ram air/catback 305tpi 700r4 with a stock limited slip 2:73 with 275 tires out back.

What will my 0-60 time be if I swapped to 3:73 gears. Will there be a night and day difference?

I've searched with not much luck, atleast for 305tpi with 700r4's

Did you go from 3:23 to 3:73, or 2:73 to 3:23?

Anyone else have input? Even with 3:70 gears?

the first one, but from a 2.73 to 3.73 would be even more of a difference

3.73 is way too short for a TPI. You'd be best off with 3.42s.

It would be a 3.70 rear with 28" tall tires. I do have ram air/exhaust if that counts. Is this still to short of a gear?

Also I do plan on doing a T-5 or T-56 swap by the end of the year.

Re: 305tpi with 3:73 0-60

My TBI car started out life with a 2:73 rear. I swapped the whole diff for a 3:73 unit. Didn't notice any signifacant loss in mileage but the fun factor went up big time. Tall gears anywhere but the highway are just boring. I actually have 3.42s now, and its a happy medium. My 3.73 rearend blew up.

Re: 305tpi with 3:73 0-60

When I had my 305 tpi, I went from a 2.73 to a 3.42.
I had some mods by then so the difference was night and day in low end torque.
I lost a bit in fuel mileage.

I had a hard time spinning the tires with the 2.73's, and then it was no problem with the 3.42's.

There are various gear ratios and even rear ends that were used in Third gens. Before picking you gears I would start by at least finding out if its a 9 bolt, 10 bolt, or Dana 44. At that point you know the ring size needed, but series of the carrier inside will depend on what gears you get too.
