If you end up with any bucking on decel you will need to have your memcal reprogramed . bullydog made a great write up on the swap.

I didnt realize he had any ads for reprograming is all,, The idle air control logic and spark tables are different from automatic to manual. You should drive it and decide if if you have a issue.
Btw I'm jelious of your t56

Get a chip burned by a sponsor, Brian (Tuned Performance) has been burning chips for a very long time and he knows what he is doing, and stands by his work. Ninetyone seems to bad mouth 3rd gens on a regular basis from what I can see and hear, and he doesn't even own one anymore, so take what he says at face value when it comes to burning proms for these vehicles...

Re: 89 IROC-Z Vert- 700R4-T56 SWAP!

ok...well i finally got my T56. i got it for 600 W/ a stage 2 rebuild and less than 3k miles on it. i have collected all the parts i need for the swap, today i mounted my pedals and my clutch hydraulics. i used the 3rd gen bracket w/ 4th gen clutch pedal, so hopefully i wont have any problems with my clutch engagement now ., installed my clutch, cut my shifter hole ( turn out pretty nice!), and wired my reverse lights for the trans, so now i need to send my t56 tailhousing to ALLOY for a cable speedo conversion, and either have someone make me a chip or learn to do it myself. i will post some pics of my progress tomorrow

Re: 89 IROC-Z Vert- 700R4-T56 SWAP!

Well before i get my tailhousing converted to a mechanical speedo, i would like to get some rearend gear ratio suggestions PLEASE.

I have the BW 9 bolt W/ 3.27 gears

I can either put the motive 3.70 gears in the 9 Bolt or i can swap the rear for a 4th gen rear W/ 3.73 gears from my local junkyard for $500. or is there any better options?
