3.73 gear question

Putting a set of 3.73s in my 92 soon. Just going to use the whole centerchunk out of my 99 so I will have posi also. Question is what tooth count/gear will I need for a 3.73 setup. I saw something on this site about the math and figureing out the tooth count you will need for gear swaps but It seems a little confusing to me. I figure alot of people have done the 3.73 swap and will know the tooth count that I will need.p

Re: 3.73 gear question

This is what I was gonna use before I did my LS swap.
44 tooth drivin gear - grey - OE# 9780470
15 tooth drive gear - grey - OE# 8642620

I never tried it but after my research this is what I would start with.

^^^This is for a 700R4 Application.^^^

He needs the T5 version. For the electrical speedo I think the driven gear is discontinued but the drive gear is a 7 tooth blue.

Re: 3.73 gear question

I haven't looked at it, so I didn't know. Years ago my GM dealer had a chart that converted everything for the correct gears.
