i thought i saw a post where you were going to get some exhaust welding done? maybe find a shop with TIG aluminum capabilities? its not a hard fix for a good welder. better move your mount off the tranns before it happens again obviously.

Yea found one that said they could tig weld it. Hoping it holds up ok.
yea I've got it at a shop that said they can tig weld it. Of course this had to happen after I spent forever getting the torque arm bolts back in after changing the bushing. Is this a common issue?
I'd say its kinda common. think about it,...a lot of your engines power ends up on that mount/bolt/ear, trying to lift up on acceleration, and come down on hard braking. so its constantly trying to push up and down. then it wants to twist side to side when you drive over un-even surfaces. might be a good idea to look into a tunnel mount system or one that moves the mount to the crossmember if you dont want it to happen again.

I ended up having it welded but I need to get a Helicoil kit. Would it be easier to swap tail shafts with my spare which is a v6 t5 or should I just go ahead and buy a helicoil kit?
I would heli-coil it since you already have it welded.
Too late, but If the V6 T5 spiral fluid passage in the tailhousing casting and the plastic fluid sprayer cup pressed into the end of the countershaft are the same, you could use the V6 tailhousing.

Helicoil it is-turns out the v6 tail shaft is broken off. :/
