Little worried about the stock t5 behind the procharger. How do you guys feel about exploding clutches or flywheels? Should I be worried?
Always a good idea plus certain track rules require it depending on et
Thanks Orr. Car prob won't be dragged. Anyone have experience of exploding clutches?

Yes.
Sliced up a bell housing like it was butter and cut a nice slot in the pass side floorboard.
Luckiest day of my life, I'd say. Used up all the luck I ever had in that one instant. I have no more.
I'd be more concerned with exploding transmissions with a T-5 though. It should largely protect the clutch.
All the same, a blanket is a good idea. Make sure you get something that wraps the transmission as well as the BH.

I feel the direct fit Lakewood 15020 is a quality product and worth considering if you're sticking with the external slave third gen setup.
I like my feet so I felt the money for a Lakewood bellhousing was worth it.

Yup; 6500 RPM, stout transmission, 12-bolt rear, heavy car. Let go the next day. Vibrated some in between but ... surprised me anyway. Also twisted the shaft part of the clutch gear out of the gear part. (didn't know until then that it was a 2-pc part)
That's crazy sofa. Glad it worked out ok.
The way I see it is that I only ever really 'thrash it' when I'm safely in gear. I don't run drag radials or slicks and never will. I probably won't even 1/4 mile it. I wonder if the kevlar blankets are a good compromise?

Even happens with autos
I was watching Street Outlaws where The Reapers transmission exploded. It what started this mild panic for me. Didn't know autos were as susceptible...
