Something broke in the vigilante converter and machined a grove around the splines. Out and ready to head to my trans guy. Damage from a past trans explosion. Still have a piece of the aluminum drum stuck between the car and subframe rails.
While the trans and converter is being rebuilt, may as well put on some new tires. these are at least 15yrs old and the 1st time I've taken tires off this car that didn't have cords showing.. getting old I guess.
Went with BFG this time. 1st time a non good year street tire has been on this car since it was new.
Interesting that the little bumps pressed into the rear cover / impeller face different directions.
That color...good thing it's hidden. Baskin-Robbins rebuilds?
I have 2 different stall speeds.. The lower stall was used for the older hyd roller cam. when I pulled it out years ago, the flexplate side was showing burnt paint. I was slipping the lock up clutch in 3rd and OD. Had it rebuilt too.
Good catch on the bumps. The left leaning bumps closest to the center weld are a lower stall, the right leaning bumps are the higher stall.
Pink is the color precision industries uses. Not sure why but whatever lol.
Converter and trans installed, crazy vibration is goooone!!! Need to work on my 20 yr old temp Y pipe. Wanted it to be stainless but haven't got there yet..
It's in and going with all gears but think the TV cable/valve is off a bit so my trans guy is going to come have a look at it.
