got problems again

i just got a new oxygen sensor and a new fuel filter put on. The others were originals and i thought after 76000 miles it was time to put new on. But now it seems that when i accelerate the car hesitates and sputters until above 2500 rpms. Can anybody help me here. I am clueless. My dad thinks that it may be bad gas, since i did just fill up my tank.

It could be bad gas sence you just filled up the tank . Have your plugwires ever been changed ? What about your sparkplugs .

hmmmm

could be many things

what comes to mind right now: fuel pressure regulator, MAP sensor, dirty injectors

i think we could rule out the bad injectors though, because then the engine would run like crap all the time

i BET its your TPS

Vacuum
Driver side by base of distributor is the main problem one.

have you tried resetting the ecm since you replaced the parts? it's really simple but it can cause alot of problems.

i already reset my ecm. When i did i unhooked the battery, then when i hooked it back up 5 minutes later, the car would not start. I sooned realized that my battery was completely dead. I took it to the parts store and had them test it and she said that it was lucky to last this long since it was bought in April 1994. Also i have an amplifier hooked up to my subwoofer, and that didnt kill the battery before this. I still have no idea whats wrong. Im hoping that its just bad gas, im going to try putting in octane booster and see if that works.

Me
Seriously.
I think you have LOTS of little problems compounding and causing all sorts of troubles.
You must get back to square one & go forward again.
Lots of hunting for your small problems.

when you first started the car after you hooked up the battery did you let it idle for 5 min, then drive for 15 or so till learn mode turned off?

yeah, i let it idle, but i didnt drive it for 15 minutes. I just moved it into the garage for the night. I have been driving it this week and the hesitation is still there, ,but is slowly goin away, im goin to check that vacuum line by the distributer though.

Sounds like an EGR valve stuck open. How is the idle quality?

You didn't put the fuel filter on backwards, did you?

i didnt put the fuel filter in backwards, i triple checked. The idle is not real bad until the car is totally warmed up. It kind of bounces on occasion when the a/c is on, but other than that it is okay.

During my swap, I spent one whole day rebuilding the vacuum hose system.
A year later, I had to separte the upper intake to get better access for new worn hose sections.
Including that back hose by distb.
It's a hunt for all leaks, but, can solve lots of problems given through effort.
Honest.
ESPECIALLY underside by EGR & manifold!
Can you say "surprise"
Lots of hoses can collaspe during vehicle operation under load, due to old age.
5/16" windshield wiper hose is the magic number
That back hose is a short section 1/2" heater hose, with lots of oil, to slip fit on.
Oh the joy of replacing that hose!!!with engine in car!
