Somewhat deep, not very loud. No "poping" that I know of.

Yes mandrel bent, dunno HP cuz did mine with a full tuneup.....yes it smelt for a while, and to help break in faster, put water down the exhaust next time you're cleaning, then start it up afterwards (I've read that a couple times on this board).

I got mine from JCW, I needed to replace my exhaust quickly because my muffler litterally fell to pieces.

Anyways, there was a wax left from the mandrel bending, which had to be burned off the first week, which explained the smell. I am happy with it none the less. I get a crackle and pop if I let of the gas at 5000rpm. That is not the kind of sound I like to hear with a fuel injected engine.

go for it

mine sounded good until winter came around and then it got louder and this year it is getting louder. I love pissing thye neighbors off. in fact when its in my garage and it is running the pictures on our family room wall rattle. i'm running the dynomax muffler with 2.5" piping and 12" long 4.5" dia. tips that give an even louder amplified sound. Once you get it on drive down quiet streets to hear it echo it gets the heart pumping when people turn their heads. When i bought my system i told the guy i wanted deaf people to hear it coming and they probaly do!!!

I had the dynomax, and left it on for maybe 6-7 weeks. it never got to sound any better. I never did like it very much. I swapped in a Flow 50 series, 40 too loud, 60 too raspy, 50 sounds just right, especially with small 3" tips.

I've never revv'd my motor up that high in neutral to hear any popping, but for regular -driving-, the motor's been that high, never heard any pops. I love the exhaust system, sounds great, and the tone mellowed out a bit after some carbon built up in the pipes (sounds less "hollow").
