New Old Stock (NOS) parts are available at any GM dealership, Ebay & Hemmings motor news.
Also hit swap meets, too.

Even places like Year One Restoration (http://www.yearone.com) and Ames Performance Engineering (http://www.amesperf.com) sell NOS parts. Those prices are insane! A fender cost is more than double! I'm sure it's well worth it, though.

Wildhog8, you can also use body & restoration panels from any f-body, doesn't have to be a 3.1... most of them used the same interior/exterior design. Just don't make a camarobird!

he was probably talking about nitrous, but, i can see the humor on new old stock. Tom, I saw a camaro/bird up here at my school a few days ago....it needed to be painted, but everything worked out ok apparently. Was running a camaro front bumper and fenders, along w/ firebird 1/4's, taillights, and trans am spoiler. LOL. i saw it parked, wished i had a camera then went on to the dorms. haven't seen it running around town recently, but i'm sure it'll show up (small town) and hopefully then i'll have a camera w/ me.

You should've done him a favor and kicked in the camaro fenders. Maybe he would've wised up and bought Firebird fenders.

Although I can see where he's coming from; the yards around me are littered with Camaros, most of which in pretty decent body condition. If you find a Firebird around here, chances are the front is mangled to hell.

NAWS...heheh!

I was not sure either...i say Ames or Classic in the new old stock...

On nitrous...I knew of a guy with a fiero running a 150 shot from NX though...had a engine management system though...got him to hit the low 13s I believe...never saw the car run though! So he could have been BSing...don't know if I would trust a 2.8 on a 150 shot...many once then bang! You're walking...

Plus forged pistons for a 2.8 are an extra $300 in the PAW catalog- screw that. It all depends on fuel, too; if the fuel system's dying, and you spray the nitrous and run lean, say hello to your newly burnt pistons!

(Burnt=melted through, for those that don't know.)

saw a guy once in a buick regal with the 3800 series motor with a nos setup. Must have done it himself 'cause he was racing a honda down the street, and all the sudden the car took off and then BAM! I almost ran over a piston and rod. Car was stopped on the side of the road with everything draining out of it. Now who's cars faster punk?!?!?!?!:sillylol:

Ouch... what a shame! Anyone see that episode of "Monster Garage"? They were working on a sand rail project; trying to turn a Mazda RX7 into a sand buggy. They failed miserably... but the laugh was the guys going "we need nitrous for this!" The morons had no idea what they were doing, and had to call in an expert for some help. You'd think with a name like "Monster Garage" that they wouldn't have a bunch of clowns trying to wire anything up. Nothing like embarassing yourself completely. What's even funnier is that they stripped the hell out of the RX7. We'd be worrying about making the lines look neat, or how to mount the solenoids so they'd look all pretty- they didn't have to worry about any of that! They even put a fuel cell in the back; they wouldn't have to drop the tank like we would if we were to upgrade our fuel pump.

And dammit why can't I do any work today?!? Geez. I gotta get off thirdgen.org soon or I'll get fired... Hey where's MDv6man lately?
