glove box

stupid question really, but was just wondering if anyone knew the reason our cars were designed without a glovebox, but just a pouch in the front? couldnt think of any possible reason, was wondering!!!!!!!

It probably just didn't fit in with the look they were going for. Glove boxes are garbage-traps anyway.

Classic Industries makes an aftermarket Glove Box for the Camaro. I don't know if it would work in the Firebirds or not.

Probably because nobody can reach that area with bucket seats without straining way over to the passenger side. Not too safe while you're driving. I don't miss it; in fact, that map pocket doesn't even hold anything in my car!

TomP at least you have a map pocket all us camaro owners have are a the glovebox in the trunk and the centerconsole that holds nothing but somehow my centerconsole accumlates nuts and bolts to my car and i have no clue how.

Mine seems to do the same thing. I don't understand it...My rear compartment has things like speaker wire, some black paint so I can touch up the front when a rock hits it, and a ratchet, 6 inch extension, and a 3/4" socket. My lug nut tool got rounded out, so I have to carry those now.

At least my ash tray keeps filling up with change. Never seem to remember putting it in there, but once a wek it's full. I think it has a tiny leprechaun living in it.:sillylol: I wish all things made money like that for me

Same with my rear compartment i went to clean mine out a few weeks ago i found a soldering iron a ting of oil tranny fluid and PS fluid along with a rachet sockets and a few cd's do i remeber putting that in there not at all.

I think I found a little over $100 in change and gift certificates in the rear storage after I got into an accident and cleaned out the car, havn't been back their for a long time.
