Different position of the shifter. Are you sure the Fbody tailshaft will work?

There is a bright side - all you need is an S10 tailshaft, to mount it into your truck...

tail shaft n splines all the same.

I need the shifter futher back anyway.

I'll just cut the mount off the cross member, then re-weld it at needed angle and height.

Be careful... it's like a pot metal crap... might not like being cut/welded

Not the tranny, the cross brace on the truck.

ok I saw this post and had to ask my own question. Im using a T5 trans attached to a 3.1 engine, not going in a GM application, could I re-clock the trans to the straight up and own position and it will work fine?the tilt of the trans is a little bit of a concern because the trans currently in the car I believe mounts strait up and down, basically I didnt want to have the shifter in my lap in second gear.

The tilt had something to do with the f-bodies. I read it in one of the car magazines once... damned if I could find the article in that pile! I -think- it had to do with the way the trans needed to fit? Anyway, you'd be fine un-doing the tilt, the trans worked like that (no tilt) in other cars...

Mine is now vertical. I am just going to have to redo the frame mount part.

S10 shifter went in it fine too
