RTV on the plenum for a last resort?
Hey guys , in trying to replace the tb to plenum gasket i cracked the plenum so i need to buy a new one (junkyard) so i went to napa and tryed to order the appropriate gaskets and they dont carry the tb to plenum gasket for my car .. and cannot order it. I have the old one but it had a vac leak. I need to send my car to be smogged monday so i cant wait to order one. If i rtv both sides of the old gasket can i reuse it. Id eventually get the correct one. Which type of rtv should i use? I need to reuse the gaskets in between the plenums too.
I need help quick , thanks

My autozone guys are either stupid or little b*****s, the only way I can get a that gasket outta them is to buy the entire upper half gasket set....I've resorted to just cutting my own, much cheaper.

If they dont have the Gasket in stock use Hylomar or grey silicone (AKA Yamma seal and a few other's). Hylomar is aircraft sealant and a very fine spread of it will work, works well enough to use on the jet liners. The grey silicone is also good, much better then regular RTV, forms a hard seal and doesent leak. All avalible at O-Zone.

Buy a roll of flat gasket material (black) and an X-acto knife and cut your own.
Felpro makes a kit containing every intake gasket but it's about $35.
