How many miles dose your 2.8 have ?

Just woundering .. Mine has 34K right now .. I am thinking about painting it but don't know how much life the 2.8 has left ? .. its been well taken care of over the years needs new vaulve seals i think because it smokes on start up ... and the 700r takes like 15 seconds to kick in when car has sat over night .. think its a vacume pump ... but yea just woundering how many miles you 2.8 guys have on your cars

Its smoking with only 34k? Wierd. Anyway, if you are planning on fixing it, I'd say pull it out, fix the seals and paint it. If you aren't planning on fixing it, I'd say find a 3.4 long block and get that painted so you can do the swap in a weekend

Anyway, I've got about 40k

mine had 140k on it, and was in bad need of going. when i pulled it out, the spark plugs were white (head gasket), the intake was leaking and so were the injectors. it was time to put er to rest. now i have a lovely 3.4 w/ 58k on it. running strong as hell and got a bit o stuff done to it w/ plenty left to do.

Well the 2.8 has 116k and its sitting on the garage floor ripped apart with collapsed lifters. The 3.4 has somewhere around 65k-70k

Wow, that's low! Keep going, you've got a lot of life left in that car- as long as you keep the engine tuned up Yearly. I've got 265,000 miles, original engine, 3rd trans, 2nd rear.
