Easy way to find a vacuum leak?

Easy way to find a vacuum leak?

well guys i'm still stuck with my starting problem, and i'm trying to see if a vacuum leak. anyone know of any easy or surefire ways of finding a vacuum leak?

Brake cleaner

Or starting fluid. Spray around the intake and plenum, if the rpm spikes (do with engine running), you have a leak.

As always, thats your option. I just like it better than spraying all kinds of fluid onto my engine.

You said that you are having a starting problem, does that mean that you have a no-start condition or that you have a hard-start condition. If you can get the car running, just shoot some brakleen around all the gasket surfaces and vacuum lines, if you have no-start at all, hook up a guage and see what you get for cranking vacuum at the port on the back of the plenum where the brake booster and accessory vacuum lines are. just pull the little one and hook up a vacuum guage to it, crank it, and record readings, depending on what kind of vacuum you get, you'll see if you have a leak or not.

ah my car runs alright , its just a hard start and it idles higher then it used to.

when i first bought the car it started first crank no problem, idle was at 750 , one day i pulled a plug to check it, put everything back on and now it idles between 1250 and 1500 and its a rough idle
