yea if you go to the search button and put Tomp as the user to find and put major tune up, you will come up with a tune up TomP wrote up that is pretty nice, It gives you everything you need to do to make your car run top notch. Check it out, it costs about 100 dollars, i did it not too long ago increased my gas mileage and got me to learn alot about my car

I cut the air baffles off my TPI intake so the whole filter is exposed. Put a MSD 6al, MAS coil, Power Pully, Fast Vhip stage 2, And some other little tricks.

Whats your deffintion of "cheap"? How much do you expet to gain?

TB Bypass, less then 5 bux, hardly noticable
Crank Pully, 60-80, low end noticable
Air baffles removed, box cut, tested with meter, nothing
coil, 30-60 bux, not very noticable

To much other stuff that starts costing over 100 bux.

i noticed more of a pull at high speeds with the baffles cut off. Better then the normal intake with tht 1 inch hole air silencer.

So far best bang for my buck was the crank pully.

I got mine from PAW for 49.95 it came with the ALT pully DONT USE THAT ONE. You also need to get a new belt. And you will see a nice gain in gas milage.

what is the differenbe between a v belt and a serp. setup and will either of these add power or gas mileage or maybe both...and does anyone know if that tornado performance thing work... you know the one you put in your intake tube

The underdrive pullys give you both better performance and better gasmilage. I noticed a nice powergain when i put mine on. Thats why i bought them then i saw my gas milage had gone up as well.

As for the TORNADO thing, I asked about it b4, and I heard it doesnt work, which is why it is advertised 0-25hp gains....(Note the "0").

Benefits

As far as Srpentine VS Vbelt, It's a toss up. If you bust a serpentine belt, you're screwed, call a wrecker. You won't have a water pump then. With V belts, You can disconnect separate items when you run at the track (power steering, AC) And still retain the all important water pump. I would suggest to anyone that they always have an extra belt in the car, never know when you might need it. One thing I can say about Serp belts, they are usually easier to cahnge.

I just got the goodyear ones they sell at autozone special order it was 20 bucks but they last for ever. I awalys wish the goodyear highmilage hoses would fit our cars. The blue hoses you see in summit.

That i do not know. I got the Mr gasket steel braided hose covers for my car a year ago and put them on. They looked good for about a month then began to make my engine look like crap so i took them off. They went from shiney to dull and the steel braids were coming apart.

ive been asking about the dual snorkle intake and i now have it installed and it looks great and really makes a difference in the performance of my 3.1...but i just heard of the ram air that you can hood up to the dual snorkles does this add power..do you have to gut the bottom of the intake...i saw this done on 1bad91z camaro but i dont know if he custom made it.... can you buy them if so what would be the price range

That is an all time debatable question if "ram air" really works. Up to you if you want to try it.

i checked ebay for the ram air piece there is one but its $50 with 12 shipping which is pretty steap for something that doesnt make to much of a performance improvement

I made that tube out of 3" exhaust pipe, quite heavy. If you can find one of them "euro" intake pipes made of aluminum that has a long enough strait, that would be better.

That part under the air damn, your car will easly overheat if thats not on.

no, nobody makes a performance TB. there isn't really enough material in the stock on to bore it out; i already looked into that. i am custom making one now and have considered possibly selling some. we'll see as mine progresses whether i think its worth trying to sell or not.

edit: worth trying to sell, as in...can i make them without spending tons of time on it and ending up with more in it than i can make off of it. i expect the final product to be very nice and definately worth while.

I know this guy (He's a friend of my Bro in law), his Ram air asetup was custom made of aluminum I think. Sure does add an interesting aspect to the car. As for "Ram air" adding power...You'll never be going fast enough for itto help too much. If you had a F1 car though 200+ mph, it would help .
And for AM91, when you gonna swap to Carb? If you do I want your"project" TB.

The absolute best bang for the buck is going to be Nitrous... But you probably didn't want to hear that. If you do put Nitrous on the car, you'd better do TomP's tuneup first, and then make sure that the engine is running good and in good shape. Beware, though, that in some states/municipalities they will get you for having the bottle armed while on the street.

Just my two cent's worth.
Later!

why do they make performance parts for the 2.8 but not for the 3.1...like performance intake manifolds but they dont make performance plenums and throttle bodies for the 3.1 why dont they see thats theres a market here for performance parts..they make parts for a v6 mustangs and even 4cyl ones but almost nothing for the 3.1

lol...i don't know. i still want to try the carb to see what it does but if i can get it to run better and still be fuel injected, i'd kinda prefer to go that route. mainly just for the slightly better gas mileage, easier to drive, 'self-adjusting', all that stuff.
