IAC plate ontop of throttle body
So I broke the bolts that hold the IAC onto that plate that sits ontop of the throttle body because I'm stupid and mess with things that work fine. I was wondering how much pressure there is on the IAC pushing it out of that plate. I drilled the bolts out best I could, but the aluminum is somewhat thin around the holes in 1 or 2 spots because I could drill straight through the bolt. I'm planning on getting 2 bolts with 2 nuts that are like 9/64's. Will bolts that small be enough to hold it in there?

But otherwise I can't answer the question. Shouldn't be much stress; I doubt the stepper motor really bottoms out hard against the IAC passageway, but I could be wrong. Thread Starter

those smaller bolts will be fine. when i first tested my new TB, i had the top plate held on by 2 small bolts with nuts. it sealed up ok with only 2 bolts in it so i'd say having 2 along with the others, you won't have a problem.

it's just the actually motor for it, not the whole plate. those 2 bolts that hold the motor on.
I just put it all back together with some mega gray liquid gasket, as much as I hate to use the crap I can't wait for an ordered gasket to come in as I NEED the car tomorrow. I plan on buying a used throttle body in the next few days anyways...
40mins to install upper intake, throttle body, throttle body bypass for the coolant lines, alternator and smog pump...that a record?

ohhh...ok. i must have misread your first post. i would guess that would be ok too. you mentioned a gasket...mine only has an o-ring in there, no gaskets. what are you gonna get another TB for?

Theres an oring on the motor for the IAC. The plate that the IAC motor sits in has a gasket between it and the throttle body. That gasket I need to special order but the liquid gasket seems to holding fine, car ran fine today going to and from work.
