Problem

My car turns over, idles but if i give it gas it drops rpms and if I give it enough it will die. like it getting choked by to much gas or to much air. cousin told me it could be the Oxygen sensor, any others.. Does anyone else have a possibility or had a similiar problem

Sounds like a vacumn leak ( a big one). If not that, the MA sensor could be wasted.

Yes, look for a vacuum leak.

there is no MAF if its the '90 listed under his username. 3.1s are all MAP based setups.

I suppose it could also be a severe out-of-correct-timing problem, too... one that gives a super-weak spark- but definately check for the vacuum leak first.

Let us know what you find!!!

Plugged exhaust could cause it to do that. Take off o2 sensor and check for pressure in exhaust. If it's high, then it could be cat or muffler. To check which, you need to punch out exhaust right before the cat convertor.

Or vacuum leak...

yeah, i dont think an injector would be quite that bad. a car can run on 5 cylinders, even if its rough. what hes describing probably wouldnt be caused by an injector.

I agree that its hard to believe the problems were from only a bad injector...but if thats all he replaced, and that fixed it....well....
