Will these fit?
I went to the bone yard today looking for different stuff when I came accross a 2.8 in a 1989 firebird. I was going to grab the injectors and send them out to cruizin performance. And throw them in mine since they are leaking. I should get alot better performance out of them this way. Am i right? Now the question is, i have heard there are two different kind of connectors that plug into the top of them. If you go to autozone.com you will see this. Will these plug in and work? Any years different? I'm just worried about them not plugging in after i get them redone. Since its cold up here. I never took them out so not exactly sure on what to do here? What tools should i bring with me? How hard is it to take the injectors out of the fuel rail? Thanks so again
The ones you may score are a no problem fit, at all.
Incidentially, using a 3.4 powered mill?
You KEEP the 3.4 injectors that came with the engine.
They hooked right into my 1985 wiring harness.

Yeah, well I need some for the time being until I can afford a 3.4. Can't wait! I was just unsure if they would. I will go and take them out next week and send them out to cruizin performace
That should make the 2.8 run great for the time being
How easy is it to remove them? Any certain tools I should bring? Thanks again

I recall using small screwdriver to get off some clip.....
rest just removes "OK"
I WOULD ALSO EXPAND YOUR SEARCH TO FWD cars, too.
BECAUSE they same injectors!
I think even up to 3.1 will be "same".
ANY WAY you can be given some off car for same price as in less personal effort?

from what I've read, teh 12pt intakes bolts are an 85 only thing. But it's good to have those in your tool box just in case

Yeah I'm going down tomorrow and I'll let you guys know how I make out. I think I will bring a torch to because those can be a pain to get out. What ya think? do the injectors just come right out? Thanks

They are removed rather "easy". Once accessed, it's kinda work it out, properly.
And I'll bet if ya goof up one removal, there's another option down the row.
Look for the best looking cars of FWD for those injectors. Again the early model year FWD have the same injectors as F Body.

None of the bolts you'll be working with should be a PITA to get out. And what exactly do you plan to hit with a torch that close to the fuel system?...

My '86 has 6pt.
Once you get the fuel rail out and the injector retaining clips out, it's a bit of work to get the injectors out because of the o-rings. You have to pull quite hard.

But seek out best old lady type FWD version series and those MPFintake are identical to the F Body, except in angle of air entry.
My favorite it too keep walking until I eventually find that subject engine already outta car. Easier access.

I got them out and also took the fuel rail. Just in case. I actually got it and the injecotors for $10. They looked pretty dirty to me. But I will send them out to cruizin performance and go from there. I couldn't get the injecotors out so ended up take a screw driver and poping up the fuel rail and it came out with all the injectors. Is that okay? Everything looks fine, just dirty. Now when i get them back and put them in, how do i go about getting them in? Theres not much room to connect them and then onto the fuel rail. Can i put them on the rail first? And do they just snug right in there when i put them back, like clip into the intake? I know its only o-rings. The other thing is the way its layed out. I bent the cold start line just to get the injectors out, motor is crap anyway, what do i care. Same with the fuel lines. Maybe someone can help me here. Thanks again
