Timing chain = big trouble?
I got a 1989 2.8, and it's coming up to about 100,000 miles. I was wondering, if you snap the timing chain on a 2.8, does it bend the valves??? That is one thing that i don't want to happen!!!
Would it be good to change it at 98,000 miles??? Thanks!

Nope, it just leaves you stranded at Fazoli's (long story with a BRAND NEW TIMING CHAIN SNAPPING)

Yeah, it's been discussed a few times, and apparently there is no interference between the valves and pistons regardless of where they are, i.e. at TDC and maximum lift. But definitely change it. I've been waiting a couple years to find time to do mine.

isn't that the luck
your car is setup in correct form it breaks and slips the timing chain and you said sounded like it had a cam and had more power due to part being faulty
but then it does it again and well now your back to worse then before
