extra threaded ports in water jacket?
Does anyone know if there are extra threaded ports in the water jacket (block, heads, or intake) on the 2.8 that would fit a sensor? And if so, whereabouts? It is an 85 MPFI.
thanks.
thanks.

depends on what size?
Both heads have one.
intake has 2-3??
Block of a 3.4 has two on pass side. I think 1-2 on drivers side.

So these ones you mention are extra, or are some already used? How many on a stock 2.8 do you figure are unused?
I think the sensor has 3/8" NPT threads. Do you happen to know if this would fit in these spare ones?

Are you rigging up an auxillery/ second fan relay to run dual fans? If so, thats were the sensors go in any of those Dale mentioned. The ports are pretty much always NPT threads and you can adapt up or down in size to get the sensor to fit.

If the holes are pluged you may need a special tool to get the plug out! WE had a hard time getting them out of a set of LT1 heads...had to track down a Snap on Truck to get the tool!

It was square, but it would not take a 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2 drive end like some will. Sucked had to drive around and saw the Snap on guy going the other way and followed him till he pulled into a dealer! Guy said people do that all the time!
