Since 220 is in the middle of the gauge,it cant be that bad.But 220 degrees is a pretty freakin hot temp. What is a "hot" temp? How hot untill head gaskets burn?

you'd have to get close to 290-300 to blow the head gasket, but 220 won't break anything. I do however prefer to stay between 180-200.

The fans normally turn on at around 220, so that's nothing to worry about.

Yes, if the car won't restart when it's hot, there's a problem.

MInes averages about 230, then my stupid fans kick in. But the wierdest thing is when i drive it on the streets, i can hear my radiator reservoir tank bubbles after my fans kick-in (temp does drop down to about 180-200)... IS that normal or is something wrong...

something is wrong if you hear the bubbling in the tank. That means that the water pressure is leaking past the radiator cap and boiling in the tank. I would replace the radiator cap just because, then if the problem persists, I would have the entire system pressure checked.

right, the cap on the radiator is the pressure cap. I have a 16lb on mine. Never had a problem with boiling in the overflow tank.

GM made it so the fans turn on at 230 due to emmissions. Kind of annoying. When I bought my Camaro, I didnt know this so I thought the fans didnt work and I lived in the desert...

Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore
WE'RE IN PALM SPRINGS, THE DESERT!
My fans kick on at 217* an off after it hits 190*.
Recent test results not a "certain gauge".
Honolulu, nice place to overheat........

Sorry didn't know the location background story.
Glad ya not offended!
I hear there's an apartment for rent on a corner in Winslow, Arizona....or is that space in the back of the Ford pickup? I hear some girl as the place for rent...
Check cap, check quality of the rad fluid AND check air dams on the car IF they are still there (there are three, two behind grill & one down under car)!
