CS-144 Alternator Install

I just ordered a CS-144 alternator and I want to know if anyone else has done this install on a V6. I have seen some pictures and installs on V8s but had not on our V6s. I do know I will need to add an additional ground wire on the alternator with a fusible link or inline fuse. The only reason I am doing this is cause I am kinda sick of having my lights dim at stoplights and when everything is turned on the volts be down in the red. Perhaps the CS-130 I have is dying which I suspect but I figure the CS-144 is a lot stronger. Someone let me know if I am going to have to do some major modification to brackets, thanks.

Interesting bracket you got there. What gauge wire did you use for the ground?

I installed mine without having to make any brackets. The only thing I needed was some new bolts to through through the holes. I removed all the brackets that were behind the alternator too. That Powermaster alternator doesn't look a thing like the CS-144 GM alternators but I guess it doesn't matter.

There is no ground wire. It is a factory 1 plug connection and a positve lead to the battery

This is my setup for my CS-144 that I got from www.alternatorparts.com. I just had to get some hardware to make it fit properly and added another ground wire out the back. I am not sure if that wire on the back is a ground or not but someone needs to tell me cause I am curious what that is. This install was pretty clean though with removal of two brackets that mounted on the header.

Anyone know where I can get a rubber boot to cover the battery terminal on the back of the alternator?
