Is it hard?

Is it very hard to change the valve cover gaskets? Do I have to have any special tools before I start? Can I do it in my apartment's parking lot without too much trouble?

What about taking the entire carpet out? Mine was damaged by water I need to get it out, its already starting to mold, and it really smells bad.

No, only really hard part, is depending on the car, getting those damn valve covers off Me with big hands have a bit of a fight on my hands. Anyways, just scrape the old gasket off, and put a new one on, nothing to complecated.

I'd guess Florida? For the carpets start by removing the door sill plates. Lift the carpet there and see what else is in the way. The carpet can usually be pulled out from under the kick panels. Console needs to come out.

Not sure but you may need to pull some of the seat rail mounting bolts. Sometimes the carpet has an opening for the seat foot, other times the carpet is cut to clear.

If the valve covers have studs then the upper and middle intake has to come off. The valve covers held in place by bolts usually clear the middle intake (this info is from what others have posted here).

RBob.

can't remember have to look. thanks for that info. if I take the intake off will the gaskets there need to be replaced as well? my father alway told me to do that, (if you take it off put a new gasket back on) he said there is too much of a risk there. also is the chilton's book better than the haynes? cuase i have the haynes, i don't like it.

the hardest part about taking out the interior was the seatbelt posts. you may need airtools. other than that it wasnt too hard. just took a long time. like the center console.

what kind of damage other than mold would that do?

you mean the water? well did 1300$ worth of damage to the whole car. 1000$ of that was motor/electrical, sensor and stuff like that.

I have no air tools.?? i attepted to take out one of the bolts that holds the seatbelt in on the front passenger side, and well to make a long story short, I'm leaving it be. my belt will just have to be blue for now. can't get it to turn.
