3.1 V6 engine wight with all parts (alternator, acc etc.) ???
Hi
I need know this for block-selection on my V8 build up and swap. 195Kg for an complete LS1 seams pretty light. So i was thinking about using an Big-Bore 6L Vortech Block that is 15Kg (about 35Lbs) heavier. Dosen't sound much unless the 35lbs are in the wrong place -> Front

They are just shy of 350 lbs with the entire intake setup bolted on in running condition. A V8 can exceed 600lbs with all iron parts, an LS1 is 459 lbs fully assembled with intake and a flexplate for an automatic trans
Plus you have to remeber that the fore to aft center of gravity of the motors weight sits more rearward on a 60*V6 than even an all aluminum LS1 V8 by about 3 inches to the CG of the car. All the V6 motor weight is behind the front wheels.
