Will headers make a difference?

I have an opportunity to get a set of pacesetter headers, but are they worth it? Will they make a difference on a 2.8? Anyone ever install them on their 2.8? Will it be a tough install? They don't have the ceramic coating, is there something I can do for heat protection or will they be ok as is?

what do you have done to your exhaust so far? catback? highflow cat? if theres nothing done, get the headers and a dynomax catback exhaust, youll love the sound and performance gains. it takes about 2-4 hours depending on your mechanical skills. and i cleaned the factory paint off mine and got high temp paint on mine and its lasted close to 8k miles.

headers will make a lil bit of difference but its still a big gain over stock manifolds. and get felpro header gaskets, the pacesetter ones blow out too quickly. oh and get some locking header bolts, youll be glad later on.

i just noticed you have a camaro. gut your air boxes if you havent done so already. youll notice a gain in the upper RPMs.

So, is this a tough install. I heard that you have to remove the alternator and the A/C compressor. My mechanic told me to not bother with locking bolts and just use heavy duty loctite. Does the pacesetter header kit come with torque specs and tightening pattern.

I kinda semi-agree. I think it would give the same effect as removing the cat. Loose low end, gain top end.

However, like any other mod. On a stock engine its not crap, but once you start doing other things, its better.

Seriously, why would you bother?

Headers are never a drop in swap. There will be things that have to be removed, brackets that won't line up right, parts that have to be fabricated, gaskets that blow out periodically, bolts that will break off in the heads...

All that for a louder exhaust and maybe a bit more power?
