well use the search button as their are tons of answers on this board, and in answer to your second question, mpfi (multi port fuel injection) and tpi (tuned port injection) are the same thing, just different names, so your car is already "tpi"

oh and welcome to the boards, your best friend here is going to be the search button. also be sure to check out the faq post in the v6 section, good info

Would it make any difference to switch the manifolds? I search all around and can't find any performance parts for a 3.1

the v6 Fbody is not what most aftermarked companys consider a "performance application". pacesetter makes headers. "DOWARD" on this site makes a turbokit... there are a few others. a SEARCH will yeald you may answers.

ya know im usually the type thats all for helping people out on here but good lord.....this guys is as bad as every customer i wait on at work....

ugh....let me try to clarify this a bit more for you v6s are mfi.....tpis are generally associated with v8s....(yes kretos they are basically the same idea but they are named diffrent for a reason lets not confuse the boy) do you understand why you cant use a tpi manifold in place of a mfi manfiold...maybe cuz thers two more cylinders? a manifold is the last thing in the world you need to worry about at this point, do a tune up, change fluids, buy a big can of wax and keep it clean

im all about making a v6 quick, its diffrent....but seriously do some seaching and actually read what people say....read....read....read, time money and lots of work is the only way to make a v6 fast.... for most its not worth it....and if you jsut lost your liscense you dont need it to be fast

haha **** my bad dumbass question i didnt even think about the 2 more cylinders i was like just kinda assuming tpi were on v8's for more performace....yeah i didnt lose my license for speeding tho....and a lot of the **** i read on here dont answer a lot of questions, lol and searching dont help that much to be honest...thats why i hope people who have done this stuff can help...im going to college for collision repair and refinishing so i dont know much about really gettin the engine to roar besides the simple things like exhaust, intake, headers, turbos and i cant find a supercharger for a 3.1 either! but you know **** like that

well the only thing other than what you have already listed are manual trans(weighs lots less and takes less for the engine to trun it pluss you can bring the engine closer to is powerband before leting out on the clutch. suppose you could get a stall convertor for the 700 but you will have to get a custom one =expensive) the other thing is removing weight from the car the less it weighs the less the engine has to move. and since we are starting with only 135 for the 2.8 and 140hp for the 3.1 at the best we need all the help we can get. that is about it for the "sinple things" mods from there involve rebuilding the engine.
