2.8l gas mileage
well i have a 1984 pontiac firebird with the 2.8l with the 700r4 with overdrive. what is the mpg that i should expect with this car? i havent been able to take it on the road yet cuz of the broken engine mount so i was just wondering what itll get.

my 83 with the th200c (3 speed no overdrive) gets about 18-19 mixed, and did 16 mpg on a road trip with quite a few curves (a lot of slowing down, mashing the petal to get back up hills) so you should get around 20 or so

I don't know how well the carbed 2.8l's are with mpg with the over drive tranny so you could also never seen into the teens at all, yet if you have a Poor carb tune/general tune you could be in the teens all day long... which reminds me... i got to go work on the car now lol

the MPFI 2.8 gets much better mileage then the carb. That being said, I get about 29 highway as well.
