well from just what im hearing i would think perhaps your trans is slipin or sumthing espeacialy if its losing power when it gets warmed up.,,.but then again there could be alot of facters,..,if the trans fluied is nice and red in color and does NOT smell burnt then it should be ok ,.and something as simple as a kick down cable from it.,.,seems your new do a search first its a great feature!

Also, get a fuel pressure gauge and watch what happens to the fuel pressure when the car warms up.

Since you just got it 2 days ago, the color or smell of the ATF could be irrelevent. The previous owner may have put new fluid in 3 days ago! Does it feel like its bogged down at all? Is it revving high, but you're not going anywhere? Does it make a difference if you manually shift?

Is it like that in all gears?
You should be able to check out First and Second at least, maybe Third?

well i manually shifted it and its a lil better...but not much
and the car has 96k miles on it , and its kinda funny how i got it...i had a 92 ford escort and it needed a clutch the headgasket was going, it was messed up in alot of areas but i put a system in it and this dumb ***** kid traded me the firebird straight up for it and my escort had double the miles on it....any way i was thinkin it might be the torque converter?? ...now i know this aint the right area to be askin.

It has to be that the tranny is going out. Doubtable the torque convertor if it revs and you dont go. So at least you didnt get what I got...
Trade a 2000 Neon and got a 91 firebird that has burnt ATF and oil is black, plugs were loose and completely shot...got it a week ago, been doin body work but by this weekend i should have that done so i can see what it can do
