torque convertor stall speed & rear axle gear selection

Looking for info on stall speed & rear axle gear selection. I've got an 11562 hypertech chip (86-87 V6),crane 2030 cam w/.423 lift, MSD blaster coil, headers. I have 9-bolt posi with either 3.27 or 3.70 gears but unsure of what stall speed convertor (plan on adding a shift kit to stock (700r4) tranny) should I use a lock up convertor? & what size tire? I have 15 & 16 inch wheels (stock type). This car is occasional street use only. Any help is appreciated.

so are you saying you have 3.27 gears, or you have 3.70 gears? or do you have a choice between the two?

Definetly go with the 3.70's with the v6 motor, the more rpm and mechanical advantage the better, especially with a cam. .423 isn't especially aggressive, whats the duration like? I would think a 2500rpm stall would be adequete for street/strip use. A lockup converter is always nice if you care about fuel mileage and wear and tear. What is your overall goal for the car, that'll help figure out better which way to go?

Cam degrees of duration @.050 lift 204/Int & 214/Exh. Want a dependable mild drag/road race/autocross type vehicle that could be driven to & from the track if necessary. Recommendations on brand of convertor? Thanks for your replies.

I run those same cam specs with my 305, it works well with a 2500rpm stall and 3.73s. I think with the v6, the more gear the better, and plenty of converter too! Those would be completely streetable as well, especially with a lockup converter. Got any numbers on the motor? I'm always curious.
