Intake Gasket, Pulling Pushrods

Is there anyway to get the intake gaskets on and what not without pulling the pushrods?

My longblock came fully assembled, and I can't seem to find if there's anyway to put the intake gasket on without pulling the pushrods.

You have to pull the pushrods to put intake gaskets on.

What I thought, but I figured hey, there might be a way around it, heh. Worth asking though.

Just make sure that you adjust the pushrods right the first time.

You said you swere still having ignition issues, though.

Pulling the pushrods is actually simple but like 2.8 said, it's adjusting the valves can be a pain if it's your first time.

Well I think that I have the ignition and valves right. Although my car threw codes for the O2 and ignition module. Now I think that one of the injectors is fried. The same cyl keeps on fouling plugs (see the new post in my problem thread)

Read this thread. It's me trying to figure out what is wrong with my car and figured out how to adjust my valves right. I think that every step is in there. If you have a haynes manuel then adjust the valves in the order is says. To figure out 0 lash read the thread and how much to tighten down.

Re: Intake Gasket, Pulling Pushrods

I cut my intake gaskets so I could get it around the pushrods. But then I also spray glued them to ensure that the intake gasket would not be in the airstream since I ported, polished, and gasket matched the heads and intake.

Re: Intake Gasket, Pulling Pushrods

I followed the Haynes manual guide. Just hope I did it right.

Hopefully that way works for you. I did it that way and it didn't really work.

Re: Intake Gasket, Pulling Pushrods

When I first fire it up, what would be signs of them being mal-adjusted?

Re: Intake Gasket, Pulling Pushrods

I don't really know. With me it was missing, you may also hear some sort of knocking from the motor. I'm not really an expert on the subject. You might want to do a search with google or view the thread about my car that I posted a few posts ealier.
