quick question for electrical connection
My fan is grounded to the firewall righ now, so its always on and my car doen't like to run cooler. I need to know what kind of connection is the fan relay on the head? I know that it is like a pin or something but I can't really see it. Can someone take a pic of theirs or tell me exactly what I will need to connect it right?

Re: quick question for electrical connection
Why don't you hook up a switch so you can turn it off when the motor has cooled down. I did and it seems to work fine.
I probably won't even mess with replacing the switch until next summer.

Re: quick question for electrical connection
Is this something the previous owner did for you? The V6 doesn't have a fan switch on the head if it's like the 3.1 that I have. The engine coolant temp sender on the intake manifold (by the thermostat) sends engine temp to the ECM, which in turn will activate the fan relay to energize the fan. From the factory, that temp is set ridiculously high (230 degrees IIRC).

Re: quick question for electrical connection
I did this because I was messing around that area of the engine and the connection went bad or somehting so I just ground it to the firewall. I don't want to wire up a switch because I don't want to and I'd don't want to be watching my temp all the time. More things that I don't want to worry about while driving. The motor is a 2.8 and the fan temp sensor to kick the fan on is in the backside of the passenger head. I just need to know what kind of connection it is. None of this "why don't you wire up a switch"?

Re: quick question for electrical connection
the stock replacement fan switch that i bought for my car has the button style(what the parts guy called it.) kinda weird lookin. my car does not have the fan switch wiring stock so i had to buy a connector for it we could only find one connector that even fit the thing. ill see if i cant get a pic here in a bit. http://www.rodneydickman.com/n20.html this page has a pic of one. im still looking for the connector.
EDIT: hmm looks like i got the right connector after all. sweet now to just get it put in. Damn innie plug not 1/4 but not 3/8 either but somewhere in between.

That guys prices are insane i got both the switch and connector for less than $20.
