i own a 87 camaro LT, the car doesnt have a v6 anymore but thats not why i am posting. i like the look of the lt body but i would like to change a few things. first does anyone know if the clear parking lights, and any of the z28 or IROCZ grills will fit a LT bumper. i already tried posting under body but got no reply. i was hoping that someone in the v6 section would know. also i was also looking if there is a billet grill for the LTs that either come black or i can paint. thanks for your time

 

i dont think that the iroc or z28 grill will fit cause the lt has a completely differnt bumper. but befor u start changing everything keep in mind that they only made 794 (or aroundthere) LTs so keeping it origanal might payoff in years to come

 

well thanks for the reply, i really didnt know that they ddint make that many of the type LTs. but see the only problem with the keeping it orignael is that they guy i bought it off of took a 92 irocz engine out of his friends totaled car and really changed the wiring and everything, but i do understand what you are telling me and i thank you for that. really i just wanted to see if i could get a different grill or parking lights, everything else i love about the car

 

Just a heads up, the parking lights are different. I have not found a set for sale that would fit our cars. Same with the grille, maybe make your own?

If you want clear parking lights, you can do what I did with my LT, and get a pair of 1985-1986 Berlinetta parking lenses. I still kept my amber lights in case I get bored with the clears. As far as grills go, we only had two choices with the LT. The standard one without fog light openings and the the one with the fog light openings. Hope this helps.

Btw, in some Chevrolet press photos, it shows the LT with the Berlinetta style clear parking lights before going to the stock amber color of the 1985-1987 Sport Coupe.

 

now that i think of it i did see a wallpaper for third gens, that had all of the models, and on the LT there was foglights. if anyone could tell me where i can get the grill with the fog light openings or what it was called, that be great. i dont recall see them on eckhlers camaro, or on hawk third gen parts.com i need a new grill the other day i was washing my car and part of the grill fell apart on me, thank goodness for glue

 

The standard grills that will fit our cars are from the 1985-87 Sport Coupe, LT, and 1985-1986 Berlinetta. Now the fog light grills (which I am sorry to say are harder to get than the stock one) came on 1986 Sport Coupe and Berlinetta with fog lights and only on the LT in 1987 with fog lights. I think i saw a stock grill that will fit your car on ebay a couple of days ago.

yeah thats the one i have and i have seen it on other sites, i guess ill just have to do some searching and maybe going to my local junk yard and try to find the one for fog lights

 

it would also be helpful if i could get a close up of the grill itself, like with the flash on, if anyone has it

ive been really busy this summer with work and preparing for my senior year at high school so i havent looked into the grills that much but thanks for the concern. once i get some spare money and time ill try to find one. one place i do wanta check out is my local junk yard. its huge hopefully i will find what i am looking for. if worse comes to worse i will just order a regular grill from ecklers camaro. thanks for asking and when i get a grill ill post on how it went.
