Re: Turbo Question

hey project89 I have another question on the thread "How to: Installing a Turbo" I saw in a picture that you left the stock o2 sensor in place. Is that necessary? or just as long as you have the other o2 sensor that's right on the hot side tubing (close to the turbo)?

dont use the stock location, put the o2 sensor on the turbo outlet, and u will also need to use a heated 02 sensor

Re: Turbo Question

I have a few more questions. Now if i'm right the IAT sensor goes between the intercooler and the throttle body. My question is, Does it matter if it is before or after the bov? My other question is instead of having to weld a bung on the oil pan for the oil drain can you use the oil dipstick tube and maybe right before it enters the pan cut it and put some type of "Y" fitting?

yes u deff want the iat between in the intercooler to tb pipe, it does not matter if it is before or after the blow off valve

no u cannot use the dipstick tube, biggest reason is its not big enough and oil would back up into the turbo

Re: Turbo Question

the diagram looks ok. the only thing is... there are a couple ways to hook up boost controllers and wastegates, just read the directions on the one(s) you buy.

By the way, I have a y-pipe and stainless steel downpipe (with wastegate) that will mount that Chrysler turbo in your pictures I can let go cheap. it mounts in front of the motor just like the "how to..." sticky.

Re: Turbo Question

I know what you need.
Maximum Boost by Corky Bell, its got a lot of small hows and whys for some thing like you need.
If you want even more HPbooks publishes "Turbochargers" its more indepth and covers pretty much every thing.

Re: Turbo Question

those size hoses are ok. The cheapest internet source I've found is McMaster.com
Page 247 of the online catalog.
-4 braided hose (3/16"ID), Part number: 4468K811 (specify length)
-10 braided hose (1/2"ID), Part number: 4468K814 (specify length)
