A little V6 rant for my fellas
A little V6 rant for my fellas
So I didn't know where to put this but I figured I'd put it here. So I have a friend and he has this ugly dull highlighter yellow foxbody mustang. He's has like a ss1 or what manifold and full intake and blah blah blah. I'll get some pics if u guys wunna size up the piece of junk. But his younger really pisses me off. Because I have a v6 auto and I'm considering doing a turbo build IM A *****?!!! Like seriously I hate people who think unless it's a v8 your nothing. It just inspires me more. But like seriously I wunna strangle this kid. Ther spoiled and dnt even work for what they get. ***** not *****. It's not what you do to your car it's the qaulity and pride you put into it. To every man his own but but when you have no respect you get none from me. Dumb *** people with tunnel vision.
He also says because I'm looking for corvette c6 rims that's *****? Ok so when did rims become *****?
Sorry guys this just bothers and I figured Id rant with my fellow v6 buds

Are you saying its one of those kids who had mommy and daddy buy him a car.. And thinks its the fastest thing out there? Only thing you can do is go ahead with your plans, turbo your v6, and them show him what a "little" v6 can do.

Re: A little V6 rant for my fellas
I agree but the only problem is then he will ask his mom and dad for more money. He will then take it to a pro shop and spend thousands on a new set up. Its hard to beat these guys but I wish you the best. I still like my v-6 but I am older and speed is not that important to me. I may do a v-8 conversion though down the road.

Re: A little V6 rant for my fellas
yeah pretty much thats how he is. i mean ill give him that he did pay for some of his car i beleive. but hes still spoiled i doubt he pays insurance and what not. Im 19 and i work for everything i have. i own and insure two cars because i work to be able to do that. now hes spoiled but i know his parents wont give him thousands of dollars to spend on the car lol but still a couple hundred here or there. i mean seriously the kid got a $700 intake mani for christmas. my family is not poor but i HIGHLY doubt id get a $700 intake mani and on top of other stuff too.
i may be 19 but seriously speed is not on my mind. id like my car to be fun to drive but thats not my priority. i think my car is turning out to be a great looking and comfortable ride. i rather drive a slow good looking car then a turd that flys 200mph lol
and the turbo and stuff is just to get my hands dirty and learn stuff. i did auto body in school not automotive so i want to learn stuff that i dont already know and be well rounded.
his cars fast im not gunna lie and its OK looking but i hate the color. hes got a venom computer crap and what not and the car to me is just junk and i was told by the friend the guy who owned it before beat on it.
but like you guys say to every man his own. i love my car slow or not and i put my hard earn money and sweat into and it means more to me then his car will ever to him.
my engine has low miles and its a beast and just wont die. why waste such a well built piece of machinery? when im older and more exspirienced then yeah maybe ill buy me some kinda car and turn it into a drag car. but its not needed. im 19 i own two cars one being a camaro all payed for by me. i happy with what i got its alot more then other people.
i know i ask alot of questions and sometimes i feel you guys might get annoyed lol
but you guys always help me and i appreciate it! glad to be part of the third gen family. the third gen V6 family ;]
heres some pics of the kids car.

There was a factory turbo v6 thirdgen.
There was a factory turbo fox body 4 banger.
Both of those would probably beat the GT.
Don't get mad; educate the ignorant.

Re: A little V6 rant for my fellas
Meh. My sort-of-brother-in-law (my wife's twin sister's husband, yeah, it's convoluted
) is just like that, too. He called mine a "poser car" LOL!
Posers care what others think of them. They brag. They diss others. (In fact, he never stops bragging about his oh-so-luxurious and oh-so-fast northstar Caddy, or hiw wifes oh-so-faaaast second gen convertible - a 2 tonne mammoth with an asthmatic 170hp 350). Of course they're fantastic cars, too, but...
My 6 gives me all I could possibly want. I just don't need more! It's a nimble and fast car. I don't race. I don't give a f___ about racing. I've put about 10K of hard-earned money into restoring it the way I liked, I'm not about to risk damaging it in some stupid race.
It's a summer roadtrip car (the original meaning of the term "grand tourer"), loaded with options, too. And a superb daily driver, as well. And it just happens to look like a 1982 Z28, my favorite thirdgen body style. I enjoy it immensely and I really don't give a flying ___ what anyone else thinks (although it just so happens everyone loves it, save for one guy... guess who, LOL)
Just tell the kid yours is set up as a tourer, not a racer. You could put an 8 in there, but it suits your needs better just the way it is. your hard earned money, your choice

Completly right guys! i jus needed to har this from my fellow third geners. it just made me so angry that people have no respect for anything or anyone else. i dont like his car the color and other things. i wont lie i hate mustangs but i do love the body style of a nice foxbody. i told him i dont like his color and what not but i do like the car. its his younger more naive stupid brother that likes to label things a *****. he needs to stop watching fast and the furious and get in the garage with his dad. (has a beast *** nova and his mom has a pretty decent 70 something vette.)

Re: A little V6 rant for my fellas
I hate how all my friends talk **** about my car when its the only thirdgen let alone the only Camaro in town and highschool because it needs paint and has a V6, well I know that most of my friends other cars are faster, and could smoke mine, but I'm 17 and I worked for everything about that car. 99% of my friends had their mommies and daddys buy them their car and give them gas money and everything. Must be nice to get things handed to you like that all the time...
I hate how best car went to someone with a Cobalt LS with an SS wing because people are stupid and think because this dudes economy car has an SS wing that its absolutely awesome. Well heres the truth....its NOT. That doesn't make up for the fact that it has a 2.2L ecotec and makes less horsepower than my car(which came in a distant third in votes) and because of the way that its driven, gets less gas mileage than my 20 year old car, my classic car, my vintage car, my muscle car nonetheless, and one that actually has some history and is a famous car.
But thats a different story...

Hey man, don't worry about what other ppl are saying. They said the same thing about my truck, an 06 silverado single cab with a 4.3. People asked me why I was supercharging it and bolting in a new rear, it hauls *** now, it's quicker than just about any v8 truck out there.
Keep on with your plans, just be sure to work in your budget. That's the biggest problem about big projects like this at your age, make sure you know what everythings going to cost and add in all the extra parts or whatnot you haven't accounted for. Then save up at least 50-100% more, it will go smoothly with no down time if you do this.

ignore them, building classic or muscle cars takes time, and isn't always pretty, ive driven home a few cars that everyone said what are you doing with that p.o.s. and when its all said and done (sometimes a year or two later) they want it..........
there's nothing wrong with a V6
as long as its RWD it's a real car
chevy cobalt - good rental car - good car for teenage girl
it will never be a classic or muscle car.
it will end up a toaster oven

Re: A little V6 rant for my fellas
I thought they made 140hp, my bad. I wonder if my K&N air filter is making mine a few more horses or not?
Yeah I don't care what they all say because they all don't take nearly as much care as their cars as I do, or know anything about it other than its a car with an engine. Half the people don't know what a transmission is, but everyone called my Camaro as POS because it had a dent on the passenger side and needs a paint job bad. Time will change all of that!
Exactly. Everyone likes what they see on tv and in video games, and they know nothing about the car or how it works or its heritage, if they have any at all. My Camaro and my friends Mustang are the only cars that have any heritage whatsoever in my highschool parking lot
The rest are toasters!

Haha I understand man, except at my school.. kids seem to get whatever they want. Infact, a sophomore just got a BRAND NEW 2010 Dodge Challenger SE, with the v6.. BUT A BRAND NEW 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER.. God, I just about vomited all over myself when I saw that.
Good thing my car has gained a small following, lots of people like it.. and well, some people hate it. BUT.. Its coming out of the shop with fresh paint THIS WEEK.. WOO!
Cool man. Im exited.

. I can't tell you how many r!cer civics I lost to and grand cherokees and station wagons... it's been a project in the making and still has 10's of thousands of dollars to go. It still looks like **** after 9 years, but it's finally coming together. The fun part is it looks like a gutted junker but it'll send absolutely anything it comes across in the rearview from a roll, with cars it has NO business even racing against. I can't tell you now how many blown ls1's or nitrous mustangs or yuppie vettes or the like that are 'supposed' to be all that and it all ends up the same. All this with an n/a extremely built 383 put together in my garage (itll see a 144 supercharger in the near future). The ultimate goal for the car is 200mph in a standing mile, less than 11.0 1/4 and over 1.0G on a skidpad, and I'm not anywhere near that yet, just keep it going and keep steady and you'll get there. I'm hopelessly addicted to that car, and I know where you're coming from. There were a lot of years where I almost gave up, but I knew I had to keep with it. Member

the turbo 4 the mustang had, I doubt would be the 5.0, they were rated for the same HP but the 5.0 had more TQ IIRC..
if you want to really rile his feathers, save up and do a turbo 3.8 those bad boys were amazing engines. OR to be really different get a LNF from a sky redline
260HP, 260TQ turbo 4 2.0L almost as much HP as a 5.7L V8 from the mid 90s and the TQ curve is from 2500 to red line IIRC... thats a factory engine.

the 454 would be nice, the LNF would still get decen MPG ^_- not to mention the 454 would take up the entire engine bay of a 3rd gen. I'd go with a turbo 383 or 327 and be like "WHos got rice now bitch"

for what they are those good cars though. never meant to be performance cars though. I'd love to a golf TDI just for the MPG to commute back and forth to work with.
