Disadvantage/Advantage to running Z28 front/rear swaybars?

Picked up some suspension parts from a 87 Z28. Sway bar, some weird brace that goes on the frame rails i guess? and front and rear springs. Im keeping the springs incase I go the v8 route, but any advantage to running these or would they be overkill, the front bar seems pretty thick.

The sway bars and steering brace all help. Bolt them on. Note that the steering brace fits between the frame and sway bar mounts.

The frame brace (wonder bar) will get in the way of your lower radiatior hose. That didnt stop me though, I just set the hose on top of the bar for now. If you figure out a better soloution LMK!
I do notice a little less roll with the bar and I imagine the difference will be huge with the wonder bar and V8 swaybars.

If you cornor HARD HARD, like autocross hard, the rear will be to much. I kept pulling a tire off the ground when I had that.

Yes, I've found that in right hand turns the jacking of the panhard bar does this. In left hand turns, no problem. Been thinking that a watts link is the way to go.

Yep, because you don't need to slow down the lack of power is not as much of an issue. Just try not to goad too many 'lessor' vehicles into turfing

Re: Disadvantage/Advantage to running Z28 front/rear swaybars?

Put on the steering brace (wonder bar), the large front sway bar, but what size rear sway bar does your car have now?

The large rear bar held the axle too much & reduced weight transfer.

Going to a smaller than the stock IROC/WS6 rear bar (24mm, IIRC) will make it better. If you have a 17mm or 19mm, that is pretty much what you want for the rear.

On my v6, since it was peg leg I could only tell the right one was lifting(34h/24)

V8 with LSD, I could tell the left was as well, but not as much as the right.

I'm running 36/19. I may bump back up to 21 or so just to get poly mount bushings.

Re: Disadvantage/Advantage to running Z28 front/rear swaybars?

I have 36mm hollow front & spohn chromoly 25mm rear and it would certainly lift the rear. You can still use a larger rear bar and move the axle mounts in a bit to reduce ridgitity. I moved mine in 1/2" and the rear stays planted now.
