Re: 2.8 liter to 3.1 liter
the 2.8 and 3.1 share the same block, the difference is the stroke of the crank. 2.99" VS 3.31"
To make it a 3.1 you'll need the 3.1 crank and the 3.1 pistons, the rods are the same and so is everything else.

Re: 2.8 liter to 3.1 liter
are the comp´s of the cranks are the same? ore have they bigger to?
its because in germany its very expensive bigger motor´s
thus in the paper stay 2800 and i know its 3100
Thus i have to change Crank and Pistons?
all other thinks are the same right?
thus i like to get more Power from this Motor,
i found Ceramic Headers - Ultra Flow Kat
what can i do more? a sharp camshaft?
gives there better heads?
i like to get arround 200 HP from the Motor ore more

If the 2.8 is running fine then i'd suggest a nitrous kit or a turbo. going to a 3.1 only gains a little torque and about 10 HP.

I have enough Time and enough Money for doing that.
Have 2 Firebird´s and 1 Camaro third gen 1 Camaro 4th gen
at the moment i like to push up the 2.8l a bit for my son.

If you're going to do all of that, save yourself the time and effort of getting into the block.
Pull the motor, and install a bigger V6 block from a later car (I can't remember if it's 3.4 or 3.8, or maybe both, read around in here) to get the extra power. If you still want more pull, put a 3.73 rear end in it. That is the best option IMO.
My stock 3.1 with a manual transmission pulls itself around great. Ditch the automatic if it has one, they rob you of 10% or so of what little power you have to begin with

Re: 2.8 liter to 3.1 liter
Everything depends on the availability of the parts, being overseas and all. You could, if you could get your hands on tuning equipment, swap the crank, keeping the 2.8 pistons, and have a bit more power over the 3.1 pistons and crank alone due to higher compression, but you're better off starting with a 3.1 shortblock and swapping everything over from the 2.8. And then, of course, get a bigger cam, 1.6:1 ratio roller rockers, headers, and port/polish the intake and heads.

Thus i have to get a 3.1 litre block
aluminum heads are ok and better than iron heads right?
roller rockers
how u mean with get a bigger Cam? do u know a website where i can find good parts for the 2.8 ore 3.1 liter engine?
i found many on Summitracing but i think there gives more good thinks.
i think better fuel injectors with 21 lbs? the original have 15 lbs?
what parts are interesting to?
i think over a turbocharging.....

Re: 2.8 liter to 3.1 liter
If you're going to go to the trouble of swapping in a different shortblock, then try to get a 3.4l v6 out of a 93-95 F-body, put in a bigger cam, not sure what you mean about summit, but they have some good cam choices, just buy it for the 2.8 if you get the 3.4 because the 3.4 selection is alot less due to it being slightly different because it has a timing mark on it for sequential fuel injection, other parts I suggest would be headers and a catback exhaust and a bit of head/intake porting, bigger injectors won't hurt either, this stuff on a 3.4 should make 200 hp relatively easy.

No disrespect, but doesn't anybody "search" anymore?
