will 2.8 oil pans fit 3.1?
iv only dealt with sbc in my 3rd gens, but i just picked up a 90 rs with a hacked up oil pan for $300. and its a 3.1 but there are alot of 2.8 engines at my local junkyards, and i just wanted to know if its a direct swap for 2.8 and 3.1 oil pans.

no, but I know the two engines share almost every component. a 3.1 is nothing but a slightly bored out 2.8

If you've replaced the oil pan on the SBC in a thirdgen, it's the same thing to replace the pan on a V6. You still have to lift the engine up to get the pan out.
If you're looking for a decent pan, check out Summit. You can get a new oil pan for cheap. I would have gotten mine there if I didn't find the one close to me for cheap on eBay. Also check there.

yeah, I was going to post there is NO WAY it's worth it to go to a yard to pull a pan... WAY too much work for a part you should be able to buy for $20 from somebody here

I would also recommend a high volume oil pump and trimming the windage tray to improve oil pressure and therefore circulation.
