I just had a really random idea....but since both of you are reading this thread atm, a lot of members on the boards and thirdgen owners in general drive some pretty rough cars, because well, its the poor man's corvette, and a lot of us love fixingmodifying them up, but just don't have the money to do as much as we would like, what if there was a raffle of sorts? where either everyone picks a #, or is assigned one by order of opting in, and a random # is calculated for the winner? Would be kind of neat, if the buy in was $20 and 50 people opted in, that would be a grand, hell in my case thats the difference between morosely staring at my car vs tearing around in it with a big stupid grin on my face...

Bit off topic, but that would be an idea, I guess. However, in my case, that would be what the IRS is good for (nice tax return this year ).

:edit: Oh, and Pils, how did you get that to work? I could kill 2 birds with one stone .

Re: v6 appearance

I would PM JT with that idea... it sounds good, and I would contribute

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a paid membership program, especially if part if it went to charitable efforts like this, or, for example, the ability to do something in the name of TGO for the guy who just lost his son.

Or in honor of those we've lost (RIP KED85)... Would be cool to have a raffle every six months or so (beginning and end of season or something).

Lol, I never thought of that, could explain it though, but I do think in some cases they just aren't using the cheapest shipping option available, cause most of the amounts I've seen are fairly reasonable/realistic rates, except for flat rate USPS shipping.

Re: v6 appearance

Well I PMed him once about maybe having a dedicated weigh reduction thread(because currently the information does exist yes, but its much like info over here on the v6 section about modding our engines, its so damn spread out its hard to find) except even worse, in this case its spread over multiple forum sections, and well, if someone has a question about it there isn't exactly a technically appropriate place to ask, body and interior would be the closest.
Point being, imo that was a great idea...but no reply, I just get the impression hes either inactive or too busy to be bothered.

Re: v6 appearance

I'm a little disappointed at the suggestion that I'm inactive or that I didn't respond to your previous PMs because both are not true.

On 2010-02-19 21:35 you asked for a dedicated *forum* for weight reduction:

And on 2010-02-19 21:49 I sent you a response:

At this time, I don't see the utilization to warrant adding that forum. If you believe you can correct me, then please give me some examples.

As it is, it looks like the content that might go in the forum you're suggesting would most likely be appropriate in the Organized Drag Racing and Autocross forum (https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/orga...ing-autocross/) as weight reduction and distribution is usually performed for the above purpose.
So I did respond to your PM within 14 minutes of your question! It just may not have been the answer you wanted to hear! I still stand by that answer, as of today.

As far as raffles, to which I also responded to your PMs sent this evening, our lawyers have said no raffles due to legal reasons.

Sorry, but we cannot have a raffle here on ThirdGen.org due to legal reasons as advised by our lawyers.

Re: v6 appearance

It wasn't meant to offend, and I do appreciate the reply's, I couldn't remember if the weight reduction had one or not, but I do recall that I sent a moderator(think it was you) PMs in the past that didn't get answered) also I wrote that before I went on the suggestions forum fwiw, but at any rate I'm sorry if it offended you, wasn't meant to, I just didn't think I would be able to get a hold of you.

Re: Off topic

By the way, in case one wonders why I quoted "3rd gen RS" when replying to Project 3.4 Camaro, it's because he requested this evening, to which I acted upon, a user name change

I was also sent a PM on 2010-08-15 17:12

I will admit I didn't respond to that one, but, your PM was received and acted upon after reviewing his account:

Screen capture shows account manager logging I banned the account the same day I received the PM.

I appreciated your report as the member in question was violating our rules/guidelines and I did take prompt action (that same day). I just didn't send a follow-up to that specific message.

Anyway, I've split this thread and have locked it as it's offtopic and we cannot allow a Raffle. Our lawyers have the final say on that, no matter what we may or may not agree with, and thus why it's pretty much a case closed.

Sorry.
