Car not staying on!!! Please all read!

Almost ever single time I come to a stop my car dies, but it is fine going at a speed over 25! I think the idiling is off. I installed my Fastchip 2, recently and now it idles alot lower now, could this be the problem?? All answers are welcomed!!!

No the whole dash just goes blank, and it only happens when in drive, it wont do that when it is in park!

If you can't find anything wrong, raise the idle up some.
When in park, what do the rpm's read at idle? And what did it read with your old chip?
If they are the same, raising the idle isn't a good idea.
Check your TPS....that could cause it also.

What does it read in drive?
1250rpm's is kinda high don't ya think?
You probably could get away with just raising the idle. But have the TPS checked first.

I thought it was high, too. Right now in drive the idles bounces around and will soon or later just die.

Thats what mine idles at, around 1000 to 1500 somwhere in that range. All I know to tell you so the car doesnt stall on you to when you're at a red light put it in park or neutral and rev until the light turns green. Im sure that would work. Good luck man, sorry I cant help ya more.

Garmer, it dies when you slow to a stop? Could be the Mass Air Flow sensor, either that, or your IAC passageway might need to be cleaned out of carbon.

Kevin's got a good idea on the TPS, too- When my car's warmed up, it idles around 600-700 RPM in drive, 800 just sitting around.

The car is going in tomorrow(w/ other little things that need to be done!) I happen to think that the chip did something. I mean before when I had the regular chip it never died, then when i put the Fastchip in it started to die. The only thing that shows up different is that the car idles lower now (about 500 RPM). So that is why I think the idling is to blame. Me and my dad did idle it up this weekend up like a 100, and it didnt die, but I can still feal that it almost dies each time!

one thing, go to a mechanic shop to check!
I had the same thing 2 years ago and after a while my crankshaft died (stuck)needed a new block. The mechanic said I had to come in before, so there was a chance to save some.

OK, I am getting code 12, over and over, if I am correct that means that nothing is wrong, right?

Correct. Garmer, when the car stalled, did the SES light come on -before- the car stalled? Because when the engine's not running (stalled) the SES light -should- be on; that's normal. But if the SES light pops on when the car's running, that means there was an error.

Did you see my message up above about cleaning out the IAC passageway?

Tom,

The SES light only came on when the car shut off. I was talking to Ed Wright and he said that the chip should not had done that and I am sending it back for a new one. By the way how do you clean out the IAC passageway and adjust the TPS? Sorry I dont know how to do these, but hey I am learning!
