when you say the car gets how real quick, do you mean that it's getting over to the red area on the temperature guage, or is it at the normal operating temp, of about 195*? If it's going past normal op, temperature then you might have aproblem with the thermostat, i just replaced my thermo, when i got the new motor, but it still runs up to about 200* and then starts to cool off again. Also, have you noticed any antifreeze on the ground, i've never noticed that my car was having trouble with anti freeze, you might have a leak somewhere, if your motors dirty clean it off with degreaser, and then check to make sure there aren't any leaks, (green stuff) on the motor, after a ride.

try checking for leaks and check and make sure the water/antifreeze mixture is correct. Also check your timing? and check the thermostat. TomP.... Engine Boy?

Voom,
My car used to do that. 1st question, my car used to run real hot,, when I bought my Fastchip-2, i got a 160 stat. The car used to run about 225, now it doesnt even get up to 200 (city). 2nd check your hoses, I was losing a lot of antifreeze too, in turned out just my hose clamp wasnt tight enough. Hope thats helps!

I had the same prop. coolant went thru the headgasket into the oil, did you check this?
No coolant or less coolant is no circulation
and the motor gets hot. The coolant goes thru the exhaust system.

More news on my problems... Ok i was at work and someone came in and told me that there was antifreeze all over the ground so i literally ran out there and took it to the closest body shop and they said that it was a bad lower radiator hose..So they replaced it and i just got it back yesterday so i have to fill it up with antifreeze and see if thats the trick...He also said to replace the thermostat in the future.

My fan did not always kick on and I had a similar prob... Try juming the a wire from the ignition wire to the fan and let it run when ever the car is on. See what temp ya are runnin there..

Consider watter wetter and a new thermo with small holes drilled on the side to let air by...
