I made this kik *** intake setup!

I took a 3" pvc T-pipe,(shaped like a T) and stuck the long part of it into the black thing coming from the tb and tightened it down good and tight.Next i took 2 1/2in pvc about 17in long and ran it to where the old airbox was(85 firebird)and put a k&n on the end.Next for the other half of the T-pipe i put 4 layers of girlfriends old pantyhose over it for now.I plan to either get another k&n on and put right on to it,or leave the panty hose on for my filter and run some 3" air dryer ducting for ram air AND cold air.The throttle response is AMAZING!!!I thought it was cool and just wanted to pass it along.

I put it in the air filter,i know its stupid but im sure it wont hurt anything there and it still measures the air.

Did you drill a hole there, or just let it hang in there?

I thought about this along time ago but since then Ive come up with a better plan. But you should have used a Y shape instead of the T shape. It would flow better. But good setup!

I didnt do your setup. It was just one of those (hmmmm, this is a good idea). I even had all the parts picked out. But didnt have the money for the K&N cone. But Im sure you could get the Y shaped thing at Homedepot or Lows.

please say your kidding about the pantyhose..
not only that wont filter anything worth a damn, but you run a high risk of sucking them into your engine.. (with line disconnected and engine running, rev the engine and put your hand over the throttle body.. ) youd prolly actually see a better gain if you ran a straight shot from the intake to the k&n without a y or a t in there.. the more bends, the more restriction.. and dryer ducting is a bad idea too.. think about the spiral that goes around it for support, that will channel air in a spiral the entire way down the tube adding immense amounts of air resistance...

Scoob, did you see that Tornado Air filter, or maybe it was Hurricane, either or it said that spiral was good. Don't know why the hell it would be, but they said so. Actually, i think the idea of setting the intake up for duel filters is a good idea, being that birds don't have them and Maro's do. But i do agree with taking off the panty hose, i'd say take off the hose, and cap the end off for now. Once you can afford another K&N put it on instead. Then you'll be running dual open elements which will be nice. But the pantyhose just might get sucked in, remove it for a minute, place your hand over the tubing and pull down the TB, you'll see what i'm talking about.

True the more bends in the pipe the worse air flow. But the bigger the area that the air is comming into the better the flow will be. So there for the bend of the Y or T shape tube will hurt the flow, but the other tube feeding more air into the TB will give more air so then it will even out the - and + of the setup.
