Graeme,
I have always been under the impression that hood pins replace the adjustable hood supports. They are usually right where the radiator "cross member" meets the inner fenders supports. At least thats how I've always seen them used.

Graeme's why did you start saying there was no help, you only had a post out like 5hrs, not everyone checks that often. Not trying to be offensive but it came off kinda funny. Sorry I can't help you out with the pins though, but it would look cool if done well/

Ok, Here is a way I heard to do hood pins, I have never personally done this so I can't say anything from expercience.
I was told to install the pins where you want them and then bring the hood down so far, and kind of let it drop. It should only be high enough to put small dents in the underside of the hood and wherever the dents are that is where you drill the holes for the pins.
The only draw back I can see from this is if the hood pulls to one side or the other after it is latched to lign up. So maybe you should disconnect the latch from the hood and make sure the hood aligns without being pulled and then do the drop method. Oh well like I said that is what I heard, I have never done it myself.
