Start looking for vacuum hoses and broken/kinked cable lines.
Binding along the way, too.
FIX IT NOW!
Before you hurt yourself or someone else.
Uncontrolled acceleration is NOT FUN!

It's like there's a switch in the brake pedal? As soon as I tap it, the RPM's drop!

Perhaps Electrical??

That's the thing! I don't have cruise control on this car..

Here's an example. I can cruise up to 60kp/h, and when I take my foot off the gas pedal,The car will remain traveling at that speed.Just like if the car had CC and as soon as I just tap the brake pedal the RPM's drop.

Another is. When I;m in park, and I press the throtle to 2000rpm. The RPM's remain at 2000 until i touch the brake pedal. WTF!!
I hope this explains my problem a little better. I just hope it's not serious..
WTF is causing this to happen?? Thanks again!!

I would say sticking throttle cable, but it wouldn't change when you hit the brakes.... If you had cruise control, that would definitely be the cause of it.... hmmmm.... Tom? Tom! Help this guy....

Here's a shot in the dark- is the floor mat up too high? I've had that happen to me twice lately... the floor mat keeps the accelrator pressed up. In my cases, I've had to pull the floormat back, because tapping the brake didn't slow anythign down.

But maybe when you tap the brake, you're moving the floormat down enough to un-bind the gas pedal? Maybe? It's a stretch... but I can't think of anything else that the brake pedal would affect.

The brake switch only controls the brake lights, torque convertor clutch disengagement (for an automatic), or a cruise control.

There's the possibility that it might be vacuum related... when you hit the brake, the booster sucks some vacuum out of the engine- but I'd imagine if that were the case, when you'd let up on the brake, the rpm's would go back up.

That's one odd problem Jordan...
If I knew the first thing about how a car worked, I'd give my 2 cents, but I'm pretty useless at this tech stuff Good luck with it!

If you bought the car used could it be a possibilty that someone had to switch the turn signal indicator (That is where the CC switch is on my Camaro) and put one on w/o the cc switch causing the cc to be engaged?
Just a thought

So... what's the deal with this problem?

[edit] I mean as in "is it still a problem"?

Hey, be thankful, now, you found it, instead it kept being a problem, as you were skidding on black ice

You were smart to ask someone.
