FREE Stuff for more power???

I was just wondering what are small free things that you can do or adjust to make the v6 run faster and smoother?

What are some free mods that you have done to improve power and torque? anyone..anyone..

And how do you do that? my car will run cooler some times than others.. Also , My service engine soon light comes on for a few seconds and goes off.. Why u think it does that?

And sometimes when i rev my engine up it will rev up and then go to 1500 rpm for about 10-15 seconds then go back down to normal idle.. I cant figure out why..?

Here's what you do. Get a cooler and fill it with bags of ice. Put it in the back of your car. When you start it up put a bag on the manifold and every 10 minutes put another bag on. OR here's another one- get a crapload of fire extingushers (co2 not powder) and cut the end off the hoses. Insert it between the upper & lower manifolds. Tape the handle down and go for a ride! Or wait, cut a hole in the hood and tape a fan over it to suck the hot air out! That will create more downforce too!

I've got tons of ideas! Oh crap you need money to do all those... Well you can still cut a hole in your hood!

Seriously though you're not going to get free power. Have you checked what the code is?

Gods honest truth - nothing. There is nothing "free" you can do to actually make the car faster. That holds true for virtually every N/A car. To make any sort of credible difference you need to change the rear end gears or some sort of forced induction.

No one has said it yet so I will. Please use the search function. I mean really, please use it. If you are new to it and you have a question, it has been answered a billion times over.

Re: FREE Stuff for more power???

I'd worry about what's wrong with the car before I started thinking about making it faster. Check the codes (search to figure out how to do it), then report what, if any, code it's throwing.
Im assuming you just bought it, so it probably is in desperate need of a major tune up. It's not free, but will get you to a point where you can start to diagnose any other problems. Search for Tom P.'s major tune-up.

That, gutting your air intake(if its dual snorkel tpi one), and throttle body coolant bypass are the only free or very near free mods.

Oh and also.
