Check out camshafts for 2.8L S-10(2030) includes rollers, rockers, and cam. I read a while back, a 40hp more from this alone.

This was what I was told, on a post 2-3 weeks ago, and I asked the same question and they said it was true.

A cam and rockers worth 40HP. Maybe depending on how bad the stock is. You can get a lot more lift from this and a lot more duration resulting in a lot more power. Especially if you throw more fuel in to go with more air and give it a little more spark. This can be achieved with a chip like the fast chip, but 40hp from just a cam no. Other things will help it out. Though if you already had a chip, a few intake mods, headers, good exhaust system and something to light all that with sure you could get 40 hp on a 2.8. Though the only way you are going to see 400 is with a big Turbo or BIG Supercharger which will mean a lot of work on the bottom end and some kind of heads to.
I think 400hp could be done, but it will be extremly difficult to do. I mean a lot of the V8 guys have a hard time pumping out 400 HP out of 350's

if you go to yahoo and search for "60 degree V6" you will find a twin tuboed 510 with a 2.8 cranking out 375 hp. The guy said he used the stock bottom end, but he didnt rev it past 7000 rpm's. He said it held up well, but keep in mind it was balanced and blueprinted to make sure it was all in perfect spec.

AS far as 40 hp from the cam, no way. I have headers, crane 2030 cam, exhaust, pulleys, intake, shaved heads with valve job, and I would be lucky to be at 180 hp.

Yo, I'm sorry but i could buy a 2.0 4-cyl, and get that much horsepower. Why did GM make these cars so slow? I line up to a civic with an exhaust, intake, ignition and he takes me out without any trouble. IT'S A F U C K I N G C I V I C !!!!!! This really pisses me off. I hate civics with a passion. I don't mean to diss or start a flame war or anything but its sad when a v-6 camaro gets beat by everybody 4 cyl. to v-8.
