Anyone using 89 octane with their chip?
If so, how is your car running? I never used 89 when mine was in, as it was recommended for 93 with the chip. However, after driving the LT1 non-stop for a month, hopping in the RS reveals ANYTHING that can improve the performance is good. I don't wanna pay for 93 for this car too, though.
So the question is, has anyone tried 89 with a chip? How does it perform?

If you run 87 though, doesn't the chip have virtually no effect? I thought one of the main ways a chip improved performance was to recalibrate WOT settings for higher octane gas. If you don't use higher than 87, won't the advanced calibrations be null and void?
After extensive testing (YA RIGHT) my car does feel to run better with 89 over 93... After running several tanks of 93 and then saying this is to darn expensive I went back to 89 and it seemed more alive.. Who knows so I have used 89 since and it has not hurt anything yet.

I always used 93 or 94... but I think I'm taking the ADS chip out this summer... from what Glenn saw of the V8 ADS chip, if it's that badly programmed, I'm sure the V6 version I have isn't much better. With the removal of the ADS chip, I'll advance my timing 2 or 4 degrees.
