He'll have to wait until 2002 to make that much money.
And he will.
But, not now.

I don't know man...if that really has only 1500 miles on it, that would be a pretty sweet deal...for a collector. Personally, I wouldn't buy it though.

Well you can look at it 2 ways.

It is a 1990 IROC which we all know is the last year of the IROC and less were made than any other year. And with a 350 and only 1500 miles that would make it pretty valuable.
However, if its only got 1500 miles on it over 11 years, the seals in that engine and transmission have got to be seriously dried out. Which means someone spends 18 grand on the car, then possibly another few grand to rebuild the motor and tranny.

'Course, if someone wanted an IROC that's pretty much off-the-floor "new", it sounds like a good deal to me. I wonder if the interior still smells new... (sigh)

10G and it would sell ASAP.. THe miles on it ROCK.. 18G is for someone serious into collecting or obsessed with 3rd gens... I would rather drop 5G in my car and have it look better and run faster than that thing.. The last thing someone will do is toss 18G then drop mods in it and loose value. Heck it is not even a TTA or a TA or even a BC4 optioned car....

Guys... read closer, he's not asking for 18G, thats just where bidding starts... the reserve hasnt been met yet... if you read on it says...

"Reserve is 25000.00 firm."

Now that is a rip-off... they were that much new... this thing it 11 years old, not to mention the points made earlier about seals and such...

He wouldn't get more than 10G for it...

If the car has never been taged, I would like to know how it got 1500 miles... the drag strip. He didn't put 1500 miles on it backing it out of the garage to wash it.

actually, they weren't EVEN THAT MUCH NEW! my '88 v6 sport coupe was only $17,000 new. a fully loaded '90 IROC would have cost $19-20,000 new. his IROC's value dropped to $18,000 when it was driven off the lot.

Dude, no offense, but your '88 SC was NOT 17k new. My '89 RS new, fully loaded (save for a 305) was $13,899...and I have the window sticker to prove it! Plus, I was sorta there when it was bought new V8 SC verts were running 17k, but not V6 coupe SCs.

BTW, there was a 383 mile '90 IROC 350 for sale last summer for $17,000...never did see what happened to it. Personally, I would have given him 13-14k for it, and drive it a few thousand miles a year...that would seem irrational to many, but I'd rather pay a premium for an original, brand new car versus the hassle of restoring a beat one.

But at that time, I didn't have 13-14k
