He can't drive...the Mustang 3.8s are even faster than the Camaro 3.8s because of the torque curve. 0-60 for a 3.8/5 speed Stang is 7.1, according to Car and Driver.

u know, i ran against one of those along long time ago, when i first got my car. It had high miles, (near 200k) but ran mint (it was my dad's and was never raced). Well, this guy had 3 people in the car, and i was by myself, and thought, i'd have a weight advantage, well, 190hp showed me that weight advantage, and aerodynamics, only do some much against power. Anyway, he smoked me like i was standing till. I ran againt another one later on, (recently) i still lost, not quite as bad, but still lost, and thats with a 2.8L bored out to 2.9L and the heads milled slightly, the new tranny, with vette servo, shift kit, and boosted line pressure. So, you gotta be truely heavy on the mods.

Later on, I raced the v6 with my friends 2000 v6 mustang 5-speed. The accord beat it. I pushed that stang to its max too. Dunno man, those stangs are kinda garbage.

no they have 190hp, close to the 200hp mark of the new f-bodies. they should kill you, but it's much more than 160. 1999-2000 i think (the new body style) all got 190hp motors. The older versions with the 3.8L recieved a 150-160hp version, which means like 130 or so at the wheels. Has anyone ever noticed that stangs lose a bunch of power between the motor and rear end. just say if we take off the 15% for drivetrain loss, well i saw an article with dyno tests (a while back, maybe two or three years old) anyway, the dyno showed that the 225hp stang GT's were actually 190hp cars, and the 305hp T/A's were actually like 297hp cars, while the vette was dyno'd at like 291 (less than the T/A) anyway. thought i'd share that. oh and get this, the college i'll be going to this fall has a vehicle technician degree with a dyno on campus, so maybe i'll see what the little 2.8L is pushing.
haha.
haha. hey 85f-bird in your kills u have a 92 Mustang V6 there were no v6's in 92 the only made the sixs again when the 94+ style came out...it was a 4 or an 8.....n e ways...the 3.8 mustangs as well as the newer v6 maro's are fast to a certain extent. the 96 or so v6 maro has about 200hp go to autotrader and check the guide if you don't beleive me and do the same for the mustang to get an accurate race

camaro vroom,
i know about the v6 thingie in the stangs, someone mentioned it along time ago, when i first posted the race, and, i've just been to lazy to change it.
after my next race, and i update the list i might change it. but the more typing the more time, and the more time on the comp, the less elsewhere. anywhoot. peace.
