Ideas ?

FACTS:
New Cap, Rotor, Plugs, Wires, Charged Battery, no apparent gasket leaks. Power Brakes do not work the pedal goes all the way mushy... I have checked the brakes, no leaks and pads are fine and everything is connected.

Problem:
No Idle... Runs like it is missing, but at High RPM it is fine.

Okay, so my car will start, but runs like crap. It has no idle and I have to run it at 1500 or higher to keep it running. It sat for a year and now it is time to make it come back to life. I need it running soon and I need it to be able to drive around the block at this point. The brakes are not my first concern at this time. I just want it running so I can pull it in and out of the garage until I can afford to have it back on the road in August.

It is a 1986 Camaro Coupe
2.8 V6
Many mods and sub 16 sec ¼ when it ran

High RPM stable, low is junk... try checking the timing. I would almost bet it is out some.

Here's what ya did.
At the base of the distributor (driver side of the engine, looking at it) is a hose, that goes to the power brake booster & the PCV valve area.
You broke the rubber hose.
It's about a slight bit less than 1/2". You need to pull off all the hose down there, clean the area with carb cleaner & wrap the fitting with black electrical tape, to take up difference.
That should do ya ok.
Double check all th hoses. You'll have a fun day. MOST of the hoses can be fixed with 5/16" windshield wiper hose rubber, to repair broken sections.

I'd actually say to remove the brakes from the problem altogether; remove the vacuum line from the intake to the brake booster, and plug the vacuum port up on the engine. If your brakes still act up, your master cylinder's probably leaking internally. If the car runs better, your booster is probably leaking vacuum.

How old is the fuel?

Around noon Flordia time I will remove the vaccum from the boster and add new fuel. Then I will atmpt to start it and see what occurs. I will keep you all updated. If that doen not work I will replace the plenum gaskets and Fuel Injection O rings since I have the kit sitting here.
